Used by Cassese underpinners to hold the wedge hammer and to enable it’s easy removal / re-fitting. Needs replacing once a year as the spring loaded ball catch will lose tension causing the wedge hammer to work loose resulting in wedge misfires.
info: DO NOT over-tighten when fitting as this will break the thread and always keep at least one spare as when these break your Cassese underpinner will be inoperable.
